Well, La Dee Da

I just came to the realization that I haven't posted in a few days. So a quick wrap - I went to Seaworld Thursday and had a blast amidst the 102+ degree weather. Friday, I recovered from Seaworld. Saturday I helped a family in our church move across town.

The fast is going great! I really don't want food, nor do I get hungry all that often. Normally the desire for food comes with those eating around me. Then I start to think about how bad that food would taste, or how bad it is for me, I lose my appetite :)

I can't believe it's been 13 days since I have eaten food :) woohoo!

Social interactions

This fast has made me realize that people are so hung up on food being the center of any social interaction, especially within family.

I did wonderful this weekend, even when at a restaurant and being stared down with food. I sat there and drank my water and ate my ice chips.

It is getting easier. I really don't even want food. Sort of scary, but I am really not all that hungry or desire the juice either.

I'm on Day 9 and can't believe I've made it this far :)

I am thinking about doing this for the full 60 days. I am excited to see where it will get me :)

Fellowship means food

When visiting family, it is extremely hard to not think about food. It seems that most families center everything around food.

Well, that was the case tonight. and we are talking filet mignon, twice baked potatoes, and a delicious looking salad. I sat there at the dinner table and watched the others eat up their delicious food and I had my bottle of water in front of me.

That said, I made it :)

Day 6 is over, only 34 days left!

breezey

Wow yesterday was an easy day. I didn't even have hunger pains! Heck, I didn't even drink all that I had juiced for the day :)

Definitely feeling the clothes getting bigger too! so exciting :) thanks for hanging with me while do this :)

Terrible Toxins

Day 4 was an okay day. I had a lot of energy, I juiced all my meals in the morning, so I wouldnt have to worry about it the rest of the day.

Before lunch I had terrible cravings for mexican food, I kept thinking about enchiladas and cheese. I think the cheese is really what I am missing the most :( But, I stuck with it.

Then I started my normal headache around 1:30, so I took solace in a bath with some green tea in the bath water to help the toxins come out of my body. I was sweating so profusely, my tongue got all gooey and I nearly passed out when I got out of the tub. I immediately grabbed water and laid down under a fan. A cold shower did the trick. Between the heat and the toxins it was knocking my system out.

Then ben noticed this weird ring on my back, more than likely a side effect of detoxing, but we are watching it to see what happens.

Onto Day 5 - only 35 more to go :)

The 2 H's

Day 3 went pretty well, I was amazed at the amount of energy I had all day. The hunger for food wasn't nearly as intense today as in previous days.  However, I have been having terrible heartburn and started having a bad headache in the late afternoon.

I found a remedy for the heartburn, oddly enough it involved apples. So I am going to try to juice some apples in the morning to combat the heartburn from coming back.

The headache was terrible, it lasted all night. I have been drinking plenty of water, so it must be the toxins leaving my body :)

Onto Day 4, 36 more to go :)

Day 2

Today has been a weird day.

This morning I had tons of energy and around 2 this afternoon, I just lost all my energy. So I sat on the couch and watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead for some inspiration. There I stayed until the movie was over and decided to start cooking dinner for ben. He had delicious butter garlic shrimp and orzo tomato basil pasta with green beans for dinner. Jealous. It smelled so good. I made my juice, drank it , and remained on the couch until I finally decided to go get in bed.

So here I am, in bed typing up my day. Hasn't been very productive. But luckily, after watching FSND I remembered that the first few days are really tough. And the hardest part is missing out on the fellowship of eating with others. I really do not get hungry until Ben gets home. It's like my body is craving to just enjoy a dinner with my husband. I can do that in 38 days!

Ben made the mistake of making peanut butter sandwich cookies. Lol, poor thing, he came and apologized because he felt he was being unfair. More power to him, I want all that junk out of my house before the 38 days is up.

The good thing about this fast is that you begin to retrain your taste buds. So when it is all said and done, I will want fruits and veggies.

38 days. I can do this, God will give me the strength!

Hunger

hun·ger/ˈhəNGgər/

Noun: A feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to eat.
Verb: Have a strong desire or craving for.

The true meaning of hunger... I want to be able to say that I hunger for Jesus.

Today started out great, I got up at 5:40 to go to the gym and meet with the "trainer". She gave me some "pointers" and sent me on my way to workout. MWF consists of a 30 minute circuit workout and then TTH are 45 minutes of cardio. After doing my workout, I came home and drank some Apple, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Kale, and Swiss Chard juice. It definitely has a strong Honeydew flavor (not my favorite).

Spent a good time in my Call to Die devotional and then somehow my morning consisted of Facebook and the internet. I think partly that was due to the 172 pages I "liked" on Facebook yesterday. I was trying to hide all their annoying posts and it took a while.

I started to get a tad hungry, so I decided to make some Mexican style Jugo, love this, maybe because it has a ton of cilantro in it. I am making an adjustment next time and adding some Garlic to it. Then I decided it was time to rest for a bit, translation: 30 minute nap.

Then I woke up and decided I wanted to make my dinner juice - green juice - the trademark of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. After realizing it was almost 2:30, I decided to start worrying about cooking dinner for Ben.

This has to be the hardest part today- smelling all this yummy food cooking and KNOWING that I will not be eating any of it. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!

OK, now I need to check on the chicken!

Thank you guys for your prayers as I start this journey
